Light Director 

for Construct 3

Turn a 3D Light into more than a static lamp. Light Director adds 16 animation presets, moving Spotlights, music-driven lighting, target detection, and atmospheric effects to Construct 3.

Create candle flicker, faulty neon, lightning, fire, welding flashes, electrical sparks, alarms, and disco lighting in seconds. Then fine-tune the speed, variation, timing, and color to fit your scene.

What you can create

• Animated lighting: Choose from 16 presets, blend between them, and synchronize multiple lights.
• Moving Spotlights: Sweep, jump between directions, drift continuously, or coordinate lights around a target.
• Audio-reactive shows: Assign lights to Bass, Mid, or Treble and control how strongly music affects brightness and color.
• Interactive detection: Use a Spotlight cone to detect a target and trigger events when it enters or leaves the lit area.
• Electrical effects: Scatter flashes across a configurable 2D or 3D area, with adjustable frequency and event triggers for sound.
• Visible beam and dust: Add an adjustable Spotlight beam and floating dust with five movement styles.
• Moths at Light: Add a small swarm near the light source. When the lamp goes out, the moths scatter and fade—without creating extra 3D lights.
• Scene management: Prioritize lights near the player or camera and fade them smoothly as they activate or deactivate.

Add the behavior to a 3D Light, choose a preset, and shape the effect in its properties. Actions, conditions, and expressions let you connect the light to your game’s events.

Compatibility: Construct 3 beta r498 or newer. Spotlight target detection uses position and direction; walls do not automatically block it. Visible beams, dust, and moths are visual effects and do not cast shadows.
